Recycled Rubber Deodorizer

Product Introduction

This product is a highly efficient reactive deodorizer specially designed for recycled rubber (RR) and its products. The reclaimed rubber system is filled with a complex mixture of odors from vulcanization fumes, grease oxidation, oil stains, and microbial degradation. Traditional masking fragrances or single physical adsorbents cannot eradicate such complex stenches.

Innovatively utilizing a "multi-channel odor tracing and purification technology," this product builds an all-solid deodorizing system integrating physical enrichment, chemical chelation, and catalytic recombination. During the wide temperature range (120-280°C) processing of recycled rubber, the customized compatible carrier melts rapidly, dispersing highly active deodorizing molecules evenly into the high-viscosity rubber network. After cooling, the carrier's long chains physically entangle deeply with rubber macromolecules, firmly "anchoring" the active ingredients within the matrix. It highly selectively eliminates sulfur, nitrogen, and aldehyde odors while stabilizing the colloid structure at the molecular level, significantly enhancing the environmental standards of recycled rubber products in compliance with RoHS 2.0 and REACH regulations.

Deodorizing Principle

  • Multifunctional Integrated Purification: Designed with highly active sulfur-capturing, nitrogen-neutralizing, and aldehyde-reactive sites. When heated during processing, it selectively undergoes irreversible chelation and dehydration condensation with odor molecules, generating stable macromolecular complexes to eliminate mixed odors at the source.
  • Catalytic Recombination & Metal Passivation: The composite catalytic active centers promote the directional recombination of unstable polysulfide crosslinks into more stable structures, reducing the secondary generation of sulfurous odors. Meanwhile, specific organic chelating groups effectively passivate residual multivalent metal ions in the colloid, inhibiting their catalytic oxidation and slowing down secondary aging and odor generation.
  • In-situ Anchoring Mechanism: Utilizing a special high-melting-point long-chain compatible carrier, it melts and encapsulates polar deodorizing molecules during high-temperature internal mixing. Upon cooling, deep physical entanglement with the complex oil-extended rubber matrix ensures firm anchoring for long-lasting odor control.

Application Areas

  • Widely applied in the manufacturing of various recycled rubbers and rubber powders, including tire reclaimed rubber, butyl reclaimed rubber, EPDM reclaimed rubber, and inner tube reclaimed rubber.
  • Covers downstream recycled rubber products that require strict odor control and low VOC emissions, such as: eco-friendly automotive interior sound-deadening mats, recycled rubber conveyor belts, rubber floor tiles, running track bottom granules, reclaimed rubber hoses, and industrial seals.

Usage Method

  • Adding Method: Recommended to be added during the final refining stage before the recycled rubber is sheeted out, utilizing the strong shear force of the mill for optimal dispersion. It can also be added along with other compounding agents at the initial stage of internal mixing for downstream products.
  • Mixing Requirements: The rubber temperature in processing equipment must reach above 140°C to ensure the solid carrier fully melts and uniformly disperses into the high-viscosity system. Mix until uniform.

Reference Dosage

  • Recommended Proportion: Add 0.1% - 0.3% based on the total weight of the materials.
  • Starting Test Recommendation: Due to extreme variations in recycled rubber processing (e.g., dynamic desulfurization) and raw material sources, it is advised to start testing at a 0.1% dosage, adjusting based on the final odor elimination rate to find the most cost-effective amount.

Precautions

  • The rubber temperature must reach above 140°C to fully trigger the carrier's melt-encapsulation mechanism for optimal deodorization.
  • This product contains highly adsorptive microporous materials. After opening, expel the air from the bag immediately, seal it tightly, and store it in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture absorption.
