PVC Powder Deodorizer (Anti-migration)

Product Introduction

This PVC anti-migration powder deodorizer is a deep-reactive purification product developed specifically for Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) systems, especially soft PVC materials containing large amounts of plasticizers. During the processing and long-term use of PVC products, odor sources present extremely complex characteristics: including the long-term release of plasticizer volatiles, high-temperature decomposition of low-molecular-weight additives, and strong pungent acidic odors caused by thermal degradation and dehydrochlorination of the PVC resin.

To thoroughly conquer these multiple odor challenges, this product breaks through the limitations of traditional masking fragrances or single physical adsorption, innovating a synergistic purification technology with "multiple action pathways". The system features a built-in micro-nano porous network for deep extraction of volatiles, complemented by highly active transition metal targeted capture and an efficient acid absorption mechanism, transforming odor-causing molecules into stable, harmless solid compounds. Particularly targeting the "solvent carry-out effect" (where liquid plasticizers migrate to the surface carrying additives with them) common in soft PVC, this formulation underwent rigorous compatibility design. By introducing highly polar functional mediums that are perfectly compatible with the PVC matrix and various plasticizers, the active purification components are firmly anchored within the polymer matrix. While efficiently eliminating odors, it ensures the product never migrates or precipitates, fully maintaining the excellent physical mechanical properties and superior surface dryness of the PVC products.

Deodorizing Principle

  • Deep Physical Extraction: A large number of micro-nano porous inorganic skeletons with specific pore size distributions act as precise "molecular sieves." In the molten state, they use physical diffusion to forcibly extract and adsorb free plasticizer volatiles and solvent residues deep into the pores for interception.
  • Chemical Targeted Locking & Source Blocking: Highly active transition metal complexes loaded inside the network act as "chemical traps," precisely capturing highly reactive malodorous molecules (sulfur/nitrogen-containing) and converting them into non-volatile solid compounds via covalent bonding. Simultaneously, strong inorganic acid-absorbing mediums instantly neutralize acidic irritating gases generated by thermal cracking, blocking the continuous generation of secondary odors at the source.
  • Polar Interfacial Anchoring (Anti-migration Mechanism): Employs special polar molecular modifications and compatible mediums with dense polar functional groups. This allows them not only to form strong physical entanglements with the polar matrix resin but also achieve high compatibility with liquid plasticizers. This composite carrier securely anchors active components in the polymer 3D network, fundamentally eliminating any possibility of migration to the product surface.

Application Areas

  • Automotive & Transportation: Automotive interior floor mats, PVC artificial leather seats, dashboard skin materials, and various eco-friendly sealing strips.
  • Wire & Cable Industry: Soft PVC insulation layers and outer sheathing for various heat-resistant and flame-retardant cables.
  • Consumer & Industrial Goods: High-end tool anti-slip handles, sports equipment soft coatings, eco-friendly PVC hoses, conveyor belts, and high-grade calendered films.

Usage Method

  • Adding Method: Suitable for standard dry-blending processes. Can be pre-mixed with PVC resin powder, heat stabilizers, and fillers in mixing equipment during the PVC compounding stage. It has a broad tolerance for shear forces (high-speed mixers yield even better results).
  • Mixing Requirements & Pre-treatment: For soft PVC systems with high plasticizer content, it is strongly recommended to pre-mix this product thoroughly with PVC resin powder before adding liquid plasticizers. This ensures the active components are evenly coated by the resin, maximizing their compatible anchoring effect and deodorizing activity.

Reference Dosage

  • Soft PVC Products: Recommended to add 0.5% - 1.5% of the total material weight.
  • Rigid PVC Products: Recommended to add 0.3% - 1.0% of the total material weight.
  • Starting Test Recommendation: It is suggested to start testing from the lower limit (0.5% for soft, 0.3% for rigid) and fine-tune progressively based on the final odor performance, surface dryness, and physical properties.

Precautions

  • Moisture Protection: The built-in microporous physical adsorption skeleton is sensitive to ambient moisture. Use as soon as possible after opening; unused powder must be tightly sealed in the moisture-proof inner bag and stored in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture vaporization during high-temperature processing from affecting surface smoothness.
  • Processing Temperature: The product is highly heat-stable. Maintain normal PVC processing temperatures of 160°C-200°C without needing to adjust existing extrusion or calendering parameters.
