Natural Rubber (NR) Deodorizer

Product Introduction

This product is a reactive, odorless deodorizer specifically developed to solve the unique odor problems of Natural Rubber (NR) and its products. Due to its biological nature, proteins and phospholipids in natural rubber easily degrade during processing and storage, releasing unpleasant "raw rubber smells" and "spoilage odors" such as amines (ammonia, fishy smells) and thiols. Meanwhile, trace transition metal ions catalyze rubber oxidation, constantly releasing acidic odors. Traditional masking fragrances fail to eradicate these complex odors and are prone to free precipitation.

To break through this limitation, this product pioneers a "biological-chemical synergistic targeted purification" technology, combined with an advanced polymer-compatible anti-precipitation mechanism. During high-temperature shear processing, a specially formulated solid lubricating carrier melts first, encapsulating the active odor-removing molecules. Upon cooling, its structure physically entangles deeply with the non-polar macromolecular network of natural rubber, locking the migration path of polar molecules from the thermodynamic source to ensure a clean surface. It not only accurately decomposes odor sources but also improves the sensory quality and storage stability of natural rubber products.

Deodorizing Principle

  • Biomimetic Catalytic Decomposition: Designed with an organic catalyst similar to an enzyme structure, it mimics the "lock and key" mechanism to accurately identify and catalytically decompose characteristic malodorous molecules (amines, thiols) produced by protein degradation, transforming them into odorless stable salts or water.
  • Metal Ion Chelation & Stabilization: Highly efficient active components strongly chelate trace transition metal ions (such as copper, manganese, and iron) in natural latex, neutralizing their catalytic activity. This chemical mechanism slows down thermo-oxidative aging and the generation of acidic odors from the source.
  • In-situ Anchoring & Anti-precipitation: Utilizes an amphiphilic compatible carrier that melts to wrap the polar deodorizing molecules at high mixing temperatures. After cooling, it deeply entangles with the natural rubber macromolecular chains, "anchoring" the purification network into the matrix and preventing small molecules from precipitating.

Application Areas

  • High-end Consumer Goods & Footwear: Natural rubber foamed yoga mat odor eliminator (effectively removes raw rubber smell and fermented sweat odors), natural latex pillow deodorization, premium natural rubber rain boots, eco-friendly shoe sole odor purification.
  • Automotive NVH & Heavy Industry: Automotive natural rubber shock-absorbing pads, high-end radial tires, and engine mount acidic odor treatment. Purifies odors while significantly improving fatigue life and thermo-oxidative stability.
  • General Rubber Products: Natural rubber conveyor belt deodorizer, low-VOC eco-friendly industrial hoses, and indoor rubber floor mats. Meets stringent odor emission standards for confined spaces.

Usage Method

  • Adding Method: Dry rubber system: Add together with raw rubber and main fillers during the early stage of open mill or internal mixer mixing, utilizing high shear force for preliminary dispersion. Latex system: Add into latex under slow stirring after the compounding agent dispersion is prepared to avoid excessive foaming.
  • Mixing Requirements: When mixing dry rubber, ensure the equipment reaches the set process temperature so the compatible carrier fully melts, encapsulates the active molecules, and uniformly disperses them into the rubber network.

Reference Dosage

  • Recommended Ratio: Generally added at 0.1% - 0.3% of the total compound weight, depending on the origin, grade, and odor severity of the natural rubber.
  • Starting Test Dosage: For optimal results, start initial testing at the lower limit of 0.1%, making slight adjustments based on the actual odor reduction effect.

Precautions

  • When mixing dry rubber, the actual shear temperature must exceed the melting point of the solid carrier (approx. 140°C) to ensure the perfect triggering of the anti-precipitation encapsulation mechanism.
  • Contains highly active catalytic structures sensitive to environmental humidity. After opening for sampling, exhaust the air from the bag immediately, seal it tightly, and store in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture.
