Inks Liquid Deodorizer

Product Introduction

In modern high-end packaging printing (such as tobacco, food, and pharmaceutical flexible packaging), the ink film layer is typically only a few microns thick. This places extreme demands on the "fineness" and "physical compatibility" of additives. Traditional powder deodorizers or poorly compatible masking fragrances easily agglomerate in this micro-thin system, directly causing serious printing defects like doctor blade streaks, mesh clogging, and cloudiness in high-gloss varnishes. Furthermore, high-end packaging faces near-zero-tolerance regulatory restrictions on VOC residues and small-molecule migration.

Relying on cutting-edge molecular-level homogeneous complexation technology, this product is specially developed for high-precision printing ink systems. It completely abandons heterogeneous physical adsorption mechanisms, converting into a 100% homogeneous transparent true liquid solution. Its excellent penetration and dispersion seamlessly integrate into various solvents and polymer resin networks. Upon film formation, it causes no light-scattering micro-defects, perfectly preserving the ink's original color hue, high gloss, and strict printability. Meanwhile, its special functional groups permanently lock in residual solvents and capture pungent aldehyde and ketone molecules generated by UV photoinitiator cleavage, anchoring them into the ink film skeleton. This empowers packaging prints to surpass the strictest environmental and low-odor standards.

Appearance

Colorless to slightly yellow clear transparent liquid.

Deodorizing Principle

  • Macromolecular Steric Hindrance & Targeted Complexation: Highly free active coordination centers in the liquid system precisely identify and strongly adsorb odorous small molecules with lone-pair electrons (e.g., free amines, hydrogen sulfide, organic acids). By forming extremely stable coordination covalent bonds, they are permanently locked and converted into non-volatile, non-migrating macromolecules.
  • Nucleophilic Addition & Network Anchoring: Embedded high-activity nucleophilic groups rapidly capture volatile pungent aldehyde and ketone fragments at room temperature via irreversible nucleophilic addition. Furthermore, carrying unsaturated active bonds, these groups act as active cross-linking sites during ink curing (especially UV curing). They participate directly in resin polymerization, anchoring the odor-capturing structures firmly into the cross-linked network without interfering with drying speed or coating adhesion.

Application Areas

  • Solvent-based Inks Eco-Deodorization: Suitable for gravure inks, flexo printing inks, and screen printing inks. Efficiently eliminates solvent residues and resin synthesis odors, significantly reducing VOC emissions in packaging prints.
  • UV/EB Curing Inks Low Odor Treatment: Powerfully removes pungent odors from residual monomers and photoinitiator decomposition products in ultraviolet or electron-beam curing inks and high-transmittance UV varnishes.
  • Food-Grade & High-Standard Tobacco Packaging: Designed for eco-friendly prints with strict limits on heavy metals, odor migration, and VOCs (food contact flexible packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, premium tobacco boxes). Provides a low-odor, high-transmittance binding solution.

Usage Method

  • Adding Method: Add during the final ink-blending stage along with remaining solvents, or dose it online directly into the ink circulation system via liquid metering devices at the printing press.
  • Mixing Requirements: As a low-viscosity liquid, normal stirring for 5-10 minutes ensures uniform dispersion. Of course, cooperating with a high-speed disperser or high-speed mixer for high-shear dispersion will yield even more exceptional, rapid molecular-level dispersion, further enhancing the ultimate clarity and leveling of the ink coating. For high-opacity inks containing concentrated titanium dioxide (white ink) or carbon black, pre-mix this product with resins and solvents before adding pigments.

Reference Dosage

  • Recommended Dosage: Add 0.1% - 0.2% of the total ink material weight.
  • Starting Test Dosage: It is recommended to start the initial trial at a low dosage of 0.1%. Fine-tune based on the balance between actual odor elimination, printing fineness, and gloss performance.

Precautions

  • This product contains active cross-linking components sensitive to UV light and high temperatures. Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, open flames, or strong acids/bases.
  • Before large-scale machine production, a fineness gauge drawdown and drying rate test in corresponding varnishes or light-colored inks are recommended to ensure perfect system compatibility.
