Adhesives Liquid Deodorizer

Product Introduction

In the modern polymer and adhesive industry, pungent amine odors from catalysts, sulfur stenches from rubber-based adhesives, and rancid degradation smells from hot melts during high-temperature cooking significantly impact environmental ratings and user experience. Traditional powder deodorizing additives easily agglomerate, settle, and fail to disperse uniformly in resins or solvents, often destroying the colloid's micro-structure.

This product is a novel homogeneous liquid deodorizing material specially customized for room-temperature curing polyurethane (PU), epoxy resins, specialty silicones, and conventional solvent-based/hot-melt adhesive systems. Through precise molecular coordination technology and special solubilization processes, highly active deodorizing components are completely liquefied, discarding backward physical masking concepts. It exhibits exceptional system compatibility, perfectly miscible with most polar and non-polar solvents and resin polyols, completely eliminating risks of low-temperature crystallization, haze, or microscopic "white spots." A trace addition irreversibly captures and converts odor-causing molecules from the chemical root, achieving true "zero interference" on initial tack, peel strength, curing rate, and transparent appearance. Safe, eco-friendly, and compliant with RoHS and REACH.

Appearance

Completely clear and transparent liquid (colorless or slightly yellowish).

Deodorizing Principle

  • Targeted Coordination Complexation (Amine/Sulfur Removal): Liquid active metal cations act like "targeted magnets," precisely identifying and capturing odor molecules with lone pair electrons (e.g., pungent amine catalysts, sulfur compounds, and thiols with rotten egg smells), locking them in highly stable "molecular cages" to strip their volatility.
  • Chemical Neutralization of Acidic Degradation (Acid Removal): Effectively neutralizes and complexes with acetic and lower fatty acids generated by hot melts at high temperatures. Supported by an inert high-boiling carrier, it does not volatilize or smoke in the melting tank, providing long-lasting high-temperature odor control.
  • Homogeneous Dispersion & Zero Physical Interference: The liquid form dissolves perfectly, achieving molecular-level contact with reaction efficiency far surpassing solid powders. Complexation products resist thermal degradation, preventing odor re-release without hijacking PU or epoxy crosslinking networks.

Application Areas

  • Reactive Adhesive Systems: Eradicates amine catalyst odors and curing byproducts in room-temperature or moisture-curing polyurethane (PU) glues, epoxy structural adhesives, and silicone sealants.
  • Hot Melt Adhesives: Suppresses and clears organic acids and thermal oxidative degradation odors generated during 150℃-200℃ processing of EVA, PES, and PUR hot melts.
  • Solvent & Rubber Adhesives: Deeply clears residual sulfur monomer stenches and irritating solvent odors in neoprene, SBS/SIS elastomer adhesives, and graft glues.

Usage Method

  • Room Temperature Direct Mixing: No equipment changes required. Add during adhesive preparation, dilution, or cooling stages, or dose online via metering devices at application sites.
  • Simple Dispersion: Due to extremely low viscosity, 5-10 minutes of low-medium speed stirring ensures homogeneous dispersion. Avoid generating large amounts of bubbles. High-shear emulsifiers are entirely unnecessary.
  • Strict Rule for Two-Component Systems: For two-component PU or epoxy systems, strictly prohibit mixing directly into pure curing agents (e.g., pure isocyanate or reactive polyamine Part B). It must be pre-mixed evenly into Part A (containing polyols or main resin).

Reference Dosage

  • Recommended Dosage: Add 0.1% - 0.2% based on the total adhesive formulation weight.
  • Starting Test Dosage: Highly recommended to begin trials at the ultra-low limit of 0.1%, evaluating both odor elimination and viscosity effects. For exceptionally severe odors, adjust up to 0.3%.

Precautions

  • Store in a cool, dry place, avoiding direct sunlight.
  • Strictly follow the addition instructions for two-component adhesives to prevent side reactions with pure curing agents that could cause premature deterioration or gelling failure.
